Dear DVAL members:
On Tuesday, April 10, 2012 the annual bus trip for our members and their friends to New York is scheduled. Here is the itinerary:
1. 7:30am leave Micro Center (550 E. Lancaster Ave., Radnor, 1908-west on Lancaster Rd. (Rt. 30) – the first left after the light at Radnor Chester Rd.
2. 9:30am – drop off those who plan to spend the morning at the Metropolitan museum.
3. 10:00am - arrive at the Hispanic Museum in New York to see Sorolla’s beautiful murals of Spanish cities, Goya’s paintings, etc. with a private tour of the Spanish art in this small but unique museum. (Admission is free.)
4. 12:30pm. Bus will take us back to the Met to eat lunch and have free time to see some art there on your own.(Admission is free but a donation is welcome.)
5. 2:30pm – Leave Met to go to the American Watercolor Show at Salmagundi. (Also free)
6. The cost of the bus trip is $38 and includes a snack bag and bottled water.
Please send your check for $38 to assure you a spot on the bus as our final deposit is due shortly. Remember, this bus trip is for members, friends and non-members. I would recommend seeing the Hispanic Museum since it is difficult to get there on your own and it houses these fantastic Sorolla murals and Spanish art by Goya and other Spanish artists. Please let me know if you plan to go to the Hispanic museum since I’d like to have a count for the lecturer. You can always change your mind and come to the Hispanic Museum or go to the Met instead on the day of the trip. I’d just like to have an idea of your interests.
Send a check for $38 to Marie T. Harris, 610 Heather Lane, Bryn Mawr, Pa., 19010 and you can make it out to DVAL or Delaware Valley Art League. If you make it out to me it’s OK too since it all goes to the same place. Please reserve your place ASAP so I will know who is coming on our bus trip this year. You can send me an email to let me know your check is on the way. My address and email are also in the directory. Email: marietharris@comcast.net
My phone number is 610-519-9297, or cell 484-431-3650.
Thanks, Marie T. Harris
